NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer team concludes its' two-game New Jersey road trip on Saturday, Sept. 30 against Rider at 1:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
- Niagara dominated play at Saint Peter's on Saturday, Sept. 23 with a 4-0 victory over the Peacocks to pick up its second straight conference win.
- Courtney Betts had a strong game for the Purple Eagles, opening the scoring in the 49th minute off a breakaway, assisted by Kelsey Araujo. She also scored Niagara's fourth and final goal in the 87th minute. Her two goals against the Peacocks are the most she has scored in a single game.
- Araujo scored Niagara's second goal in the 59th minute off a ball played in by Hailey Bicknell, who also scored in the 71st minute.
- Shania van Nuland started in net, grabbing four saves and earning her second solo shutout of the season.
On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (6-3-1, 2-1-0 MAAC)
- After scoring three goals in the last two games, Betts now leads the Purple Eagles with four goals and 10 points. She is tied for second in the MAAC in goals, tied for fifth in points and was awarded MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25 after her performance the previous week.
- Bicknell is second in the team in goals (three) and points (eight), followed by Araujo and Eva Bachmann, who have both recorded two goals and two assists.
- Van Nuland (3-1-0) earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25 after her back-to-back shutouts. She leads all NU goalkeepers with 24 saves and 495 minutes played in net so far this season. Van Nuland ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.828), is tied for fourth in shutouts (two) and has the fifth-best goals against average (0.91).

- Redshirt-senior Michelle Iacono is tied for fourth in the MAAC in points (11) and assists (five) and her three goals are tied for eighth-most in the conference.
- Junior Kourtney Cunningham leads the Broncs in scoring with four goals. She also leads the team in total shots (26) and shots on goal (12).
- Freshman goalkeeper Carmen Carbonell has played the most minutes in net for the Broncs, recording 36 saves, and .818 save percentage and a 1.09 goals against average. Carbonell's save percentage is the fifth-best in the MAAC and she ranks sixth in goals against average.
