NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer team kicks off conference play this weekend, hosting the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11:00 a.m.
Last Time Out
- The Purple Eagles played two games last weekend with a home match against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Friday, Sept. 8 and a road match at Cleveland State on Sunday, Sept. 10.
- Niagara extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 2-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Courtney Betts opened scoring in the 14th minute off an assist from Eva Bachmann. Bachmann scored her second goal of the season in the 45th minute after collecting a loose ball in the box and finishing far post. Goalkeeper Sabrina Locas made a career-high six saves in the match.

- Bachmann, Hailey Bicknell, and Bayley Sullivan lead the Purple Eagles in scoring with two goals each so far this season. Bachmann leads the team with six points, followed by Bicknell (five points) and Sullivan (four points).

- Locas earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors after her win against Fairleigh Dickinson. She has a 2-1-1 record, 17 saves, a .810 save percentage, a 1.07 goals against average and one shutout.

- Niagara and Monmouth last met on Oct. 8, 2016 in Long Branch, N.J.
- The Hawks got the best of the Purple Eagles in a lopsided 5-0 win, which saw two penalty kick goals as well as a hat-trick for Monmouth.
