Purple Eagles Close Out 2015 at Mount St. Mary's

Last Time Out

•  The Purple Eagles were defeated by Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure, 67-55, on Wednesday, Dec. 23 in Olean, N.Y.
•  Sam Lapszynski led the team in scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 11 rebounds, earning her third career double-double.
•  Kaylee Stroemple tied a career-high with 10 rebounds. She also had six points.
•  Taylor McKay added 13 points and six rebounds.
•  Jamie Sherburne led the team in assists and steals with four of each.
 
Led by Lapszynski
•  Sam Lapszynski was named MAAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week coming off her best career games against Cleveland State on Nov. 27 and Detroit on Nov. 29.
•  Against Cleveland State, Lapszynski had the first double-double of her career; she had a career-high 24 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a career-best three blocks.
•  At Detroit, Lapszynski surpassed her performance against Celeveland State and scored a new career-high of 27 points.
•  Lapszynski led the Purple Eagles in scoring in both matchups and led the team in rebounds against Cleveland State.
•  She had the second double-double of her career against Monmouth on Dec. 6; she had 12 points and 11 rebounds. She also recorded a new career-best of five blocked shots.
•  Lapszynski recorded her third double-double against St. Bonaventure on Dec. 23 with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Stroemple Stuns
•  Kaylee Stroemple is in the midst of a break-out season for the Purple Eagles. This season, she has started all 10 games so far (compared to only three games in 2014-15) and has become both an offensive and defensive leader.
•  Stroemple scored a caeer-high 20 points at Monmouth on Dec. 6.
•  She had a career-best 10 rebounds against Youngstown State on Nov. 17. She tied her career-best with 10 rebounds against St. Bonaventure on Dec. 23.
•  Stroemple recorded a career-best four steals at Manhattan on Dec. 4.
•  Stroemple led the team in scoring for three straight games (Monmouth, Dartmouth and Buffalo).
 
Coach Pierce's First Win
•  First-year head coach Jada Pierce won her first game at Niagara on Nov. 27 against Cleveland State.
•  Niagara took on the Vikings at home and defeated them 73-72 in overtime.
 
Niagara in the MAAC
•  The Purple Eagles rank third in assists with 149 total and 14.9 per game.
•  Niagara ranks second in the MAAC in field goal percentage; the Purple Eagles have made 233 of 585 attempted field goals for a percentage of .381.
•  The Purple Eagles are the fifth highest scoring offense in the MAAC; they have 586 total points and average 58.6 points per game.
•  Sam Lapszynski ranks third in blocked shots (21 total, 2.1 per game) and third in field goal percentage (48-87, .552).
•  Kaylee Stroemple is sixth in steals; she has 18 total steals and averages 1.8 steals per game.
•  Jamie Sherburne is fourth in assists with 42 total and 4.2 per game.
