Women's Basketball Announces Three NLI Signees

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women's basketball head coach Jada Pierce announced three newcomers who signed their national letters of intent. Morgan Baughman, Maggie McIntyre and Jai Moore will enroll at Niagara in the fall of 2016.

Morgan Baughman | Guard | 5-foot-10 | Carlisle, PA | Cumberland Valley High School

Morgan Baughman currently plays at Cumberland Valley High School as well as playing club basketball for Team Pennsylvania. Baughman helped Cumberland Valley win the Mid-Penn Conference Championships during her sophomore and junior seasons. She earned the Miss PA Basketball Banquet 3-Star Athlete Award her junior year. Entering her senior season, Baughman was USA Today nationally-ranked (10th) and Max Preps nationally-ranked (14th).

"Morgan comes from a very successful high school program that has won two state titles at the highest level in Pennsylvania," said Pierce.  "Any time you can have a player in your program that is a proven winner, it will make an immediate impact.  She is also a prolific shooter with range that will help spread the floor for our strong inside game."

Maggie McIntyre | Guard | 5-foot | Mantua, NJ | Gloucester Catholic High School

Maggie McIntyre currently plays at Gloucester Catholic High School as well as for the Philly Comets. McIntyre earned several honors during her junior season, including being selected to first team all-conference, second team All-South Jersey, second team All-State and named to the South Jersey Invitational Basketball Tournament All-Tournament Team. At the start of her senior season, she was 85 points away from reaching 1,000 career points.

"Maggie is someone I've seen play for the last three years when I was at St. Joe's," said Pierce. "I always felt when I got a head coaching job that I wanted her to be my point guard. She is the ultimate floor general with a high basketball IQ and is a proven winner. We are excited to have a player like Maggie that will be a leader both on and off the court."

Jai Moore | Guard | 5-foot-9 | Brooklyn, NY | Midwood High School

Moore is a stand-out basketball player at Midwood High School. Moore was named team MVP after her junior season, as well as being selected to the All-Brooklyn second team. Moore averaged 15.3 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game for Midwood her junior season, which helped lead her to the opportunity to play travel basketball with New Heights in the summer of 2015.

"Jai is a player that caught my eye the first time I watched her this summer," Pierce said. "She is a tough New York City guard with the ability to attack the rim and create for herself and for others which is something we knew we needed in our program. Jai fits very well with the up-tempo style in which we want to play."
