Live Stats | Live Video

The Niagara men's soccer team has one more week of games left in the regular season before the Purple Eagles travel to Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the MAAC Championships. Both of their two remaining contests will be held at Niagara Field, the first of which is against the Marist Red Foxes at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Last Time Out
  • Faced with a tough test at MAAC-leading Monmouth, the Niagara offense broke through with three goals, but ultimately came up short in a 5-3 defeat.
  • Sergio Lujan led the way with two goals for the Purple Eagles, and Alex Dimitriu picked up his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
  • Dimitriu, Jordy Robins, and Steve Pondeca all picked up assists in the loss.
  • Colin Hanley was relieved by Joel Gerberich after surrendering three goals in the opening 31 minutes. Gerberich made three saves on five shots through the rest of regulation time.

In the MAAC
  • With a goal and an assist at Monmouth, Dimitriu increased his team-leading point total to fourteen (six goals, two assists). That total ranks seventh in the MAAC.
  • Additionally, Dimitriu's six goals rank fourth in the conference.
  • The Purple Eagles' goals have primarily come as a result of strong passing plays. Niagara ranks fifth in the MAAC in total assists (17) and assists per game (1.0).

Across the Pitch: Marist Red Foxes (6-8-1 overall, 4-3-1 MAAC)
  • Marist currently sits fourth in the MAAC entering the final week of the regular season.
  • The Purple Eagles are 4-1-0 against Marist in the last five games between these two teams, but the Red Foxes won last year's matchup 3-0.
  • Marist goalkeeper Mark Rajovic leads the MAAC in saves per game with 4.53.
  • The Red Foxes rank third in the conference in shots on goal per game (5.67).
