Men's Soccer Returns Home Sunday

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles look to improve to 2-0 at home on the season when they host the Detroit Titans at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Niagara Field.

Setting The Scene
  • Sunday's game will be the first meeting between these two clubs.
  • Niagara has three non-conference games remaining over the next three days. The team will head south next week for games against Pittsburgh and West Virginia.
  • The Purple Eagles bring two-consecutive wins into Sunday's match after a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Sept. 12 and a 1-0 overtime victory over St. Bonaventure on Sept. 14.
  • Andrew Ferguson has five points over the last two games. The junior scored a goal and an assist vs. Buffalo and assisted on the overtime winner against SBU. His two assists have him in a tie for fourth place in the MAAC.
  • The last time NU won consecutive games was in the beginning of the 2012 season when it won three-straight to start up an 11-game unbeaten streak.
  • Joel Gerberich came away with a pair of wins last weekend and took home the conference Rookie of the Week honors after posting a .900 save percentage.
