Coming Home

The Purple Eagles end the month of November hosting their first home matchup with the Detroit Mercy Titans on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Niagara (1-3) is coming off of its first win of the season, a 63-52 decision against Binghamton. Four Purple Eagles scored in double figures as sophomore forward Victoria Rampado led the way with a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds marking her first double-double of the season. Senior guard Meghan McGuinness also added 15 points while Taylor McKay and Kaylee Stroemple combined for a total of 21 points.

The Purple Eagles finished the game going 9-for-13 from the free-throw line (69.2 percent).  They topped the Bearcats in every statistical category but one.  NU shot 36.8 percent from the floor to Binghamton's 29.5 percent; pulled down 56 rebounds to BU's 34; and had six steals to BU's five.  The Purple Eagles also had an 18-6 advantage of points in the paint and 39-10 points off the bench.

The Detroit Titans (1-3) are looking to break a two-game losing streak after dropping their most recent matchup to St. Bonaventure, 68-56. A strong first half performance by the Bonnies led to the 12-point victory over the Detroit Titans on Saturday, Nov. 22. UDM secured their first victory this season against Marygrove College, 88-46, in its home opener on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Despite being just a four and a half hour drive through Canada, this is the first career meeting between the two programs, located roughly 250 miles apart from each other.
