Weimer Leads Men's Golf In First Collegiate Tournament

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Freshman Daniel Weimer led the men's golf team in both Sunday's final round and finished tied for 41st overall in the Colgate Invitational at the Seven Oaks Country Club.
 
Weimer turned in a 78, one stroke off of the 77 he hit in the opening round, to finish with a 235 (+19) overall which put him in a three-way tie for 41st.  Jacob Felicetti was one stroke back in the round, with a 79, but finished third for NU with a 240 (+24).  Jackson Lizardo landed in-between the two with a 239 (+23) after carding an 80 on the day. 
 
With William Lumadue's 249 (+33) and Zach Clark's 278 (+62), the Purple Eagles finished in 14th place with a 963 (+99) team score.  They finished 17 strokes behind 13th place Rider while Binghamton won the event with an 880 (+16).
 
Niagara is back on the course next Sunday for the first round of the 25th Leo Keenan Invitational hosted by Saint Bonaventure.
