NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men's soccer team are preparing for its final non-conference match-up of the 2013 season when the Purple Eagles host the Cornell Big Red on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.

Purple Eagles 101
The Purple Eagles sit at 1-6-0 on the season after dropping a pair of games against Robert Morris, 4-0 and Saint Francis (Pa.), 2-0 last weekend.
Niagara's five goals have been scored by four different players.
Nicholas Watson, and
Julian Ekeze are the only players to tally both a score and an assist, as Watson has seven points (2-3-7), and Ekeze has three points (1-1-3).
In goal,
Brenden Ottman played every minute of the previous game, and has 10 saves and a goals-against average of 1.42.
William Banahene has seen the majority of time between the posts, as the sophomore has 16 saves on the year for a .667 save percentage and a 1.92 goals-against average.
Scouting Cornell
Cornell comes to Monteagle Ridge on a seven game unbeaten streak, most recently drawing with Lafayette College to improve to 5-0-2 in 2013. The team has a game against Buffalo on Friday before taking on Niagara.
Eleven Cornell players have registered at least one point in seven games. Jake Rinow (2-2-6) and Conor Goepel (2-1-5) are the lone Big Reds with multiple goals. Zach Zagorski has played a majority of minutes thus far, making 17 saves and allowing just four goals in 581:52.
All-Time vs. the Big Red
The Purple Eagles and Big Red have only met once in the all-time series. The last time these two programs met was on Sept. 2, 2011 where NU came out with a 3-1 victory.
Up Next for Niagara
Following the match vs. Cornell, the Purple Eagles will take on their first MAAC opponent of the season on Saturday, Oct. 5 when Niagara hosts Saint Peter's at Niagara Field.
