Game Notes | Live Stats | Live Video (Free)

The Purple Eagles continue to look for their first win of the season as they head to Olean, N.Y. for a Little Three matchup against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 7:00 p.m. at the Reilly Center.

Tuesday's game looks to be high scoring with Niagara (0-2) averaging 65.5 ppg and St. Bonaventure (3-1) averaging 66.5 ppg. Both teams enter the game with three players averaging more than nine ppg.  The Purple Eagles are led by Meghan McGuinness' 16.0 ppg, followed by Victoria Rampado's 12.5 ppg and Val McQuade's 9.5 ppg.  The Bonnies are led by Gabrielle Richard's 18.0 ppg, Katie Healy's 13.8 ppg, and Chelsea Bowker's 13.0 ppg.

Where Niagara will look to have the advantage is in secondary scoring.  The other six players that have seen playing time for the Bonnas have combined for 15 field goals through four games.  After Niagara's top-3, the next four players for the Purple and White have combined for 16 field goals in just two games.

St. Bonaventure enters the contest with one loss in its first four games this season, a 70-47 decision at the hands of NC State.  Since the loss they had a six-point, 68-62, win over Green Bay and a 74-59 victory over Fairfield, both of which came at the Reilly Center to give the team a 2-0 record at home.

When these two teams met last season, a 51-49 win for St. Bonaventure, it was the Purple Eagles who led for the first 28 minutes of the contest after hitting 48.0 percent (12-25) of their field goal chances.  SBU took the lead in the second half and had an 8-point lead as time was winding down but a three pointer from Vanessa Neal and a stretch that saw NU go 4-for-4 from the free-throw line brought the game within two, however, a missed half-court shot would stop the rally short.

NU outshot SBU in the game, 36.7 percent to 30.8 percent, but it was at the free throw line where the difference was made.  The Purple Eagles went 8-for-10 from the charity stripe but sent the Bonnies to the line 24 times, of which they converted 15.

Against the Bonnies (SBU leads 34-22)
- St. Bonaventure has had the upper hand in the series as of late, going 6-0 in the last six contests. Niagara's last win came in the 2006-07 season when the Purple Eagles scored a seven-point victory, 71-64.  The most recent loss, last year's matchup at Niagara, was a two-point game. The Purple Eagles fell 51-49.

Against the Atlantic-10
- Niagara has played nine of the 13 teams that make up the modern day A-10 with only two of those matchups, including SBU, coming in the last decade. Two (Rhode Island and La Salle) were played in the 1990s while the only time NU faced-off with Dayton came in the 1978-79 season.

"Know Your Enemy"
- The Purple Eagles have faced the Bonnies 56 times, good for third on the most played all-time list behind Canisius (82) and Siena (64).  Niagara has faced SBU the most out of all non-MAAC opponents.

"Reason To Believe"
- The last time NU started the season with a pair of loses was the 2011-12 season.  They would go on to tie for 4th place in the MAAC and make a MAAC Tournament semifinal appearance.

"Ca Plane Pour Moi"
- The Purple Eagles have found success at the charity stripe, hitting 86.1 percent (31-36) of their chances.
- Three players are perfect from the foul line through the opening two games; Meghan McGuinness and Taylor McKay are 4-for-4 while freshman Victoria Rampado has hit all nine chances.
Sylvia Maxwell has been sent to the line a team-leading 10 times and has converted eight of them.

"Double Vision"
- The Purple Eagles have had three players hit double digit points in each of their first two games this season.
- They had three players score at least 10 points eight times last season, but only once did they do it in back-to-back games.  Those games were on 11/15 against Bowling Green and 11/21 against Bucknell (also both losses).

"They Say It's Your Birthday..."
- Chanel Johnson, NU's lone senior, is set to make her first appearance of the season on Tuesday after missing the first two games.
- Tuesday is also Chanel's birthday.
