Niagara, Fairfield Set for League Battle on Saturday

Purple Eagles 101
With one week remaining in regular season play after this weekend, the Purple Eagles (4-10-1; 3-3-1 MAAC) sit in seventh in the MAAC trailing first place Monmouth by 12 points. 

Breanna Catipovic is one goal shy of tying her career-high of eight as she leads the Purple Eagles with 14 points.   Catherine Meyer has been the playmaker, leading the team with four assists, while adding a goal for six points. 

Claire Feiertag continues to be the Purple Eagles' netminder, making 68 saves for a 1.36 goals-against average and a .782 save percentage.

Last Time Out
Niagara picked up its seventh point in MAAC play after a 1-1 draw against Quinnipiac on Saturday.  Feiertag made a career-high nine saves, including six in overtime, while Catipovic scored the only goal of the game for NU in the 77th minute.

Taking a Look at Fairfield
The Stags sit in second place in the conference, three points behind No. 1 Monmouth.  Fairfield holds a 9-5-1 overall start, and are 5-1-1 in MAAC play after winnings its third straight game with a 2-0 victory over Iona on Wednesday.  

Fairfield has 14 players who have registered at least one point this season, including 10 who have found the back of the net on at least one occasion.  Ashley Small leads the team offensively with 21 points off 10 goals and an assist, while Nikki Stanton is second in points with 10 (2g, 6a).

Goalkeeping duties have been given to Kathleen Early for a majority of the season.  The junior has made 44 saves in 13 games, owning a 0.79 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage.

All-Time vs. the Stags
Niagara owns a 6-18-1 all-time record against Fairfield.  The Purps fell to the Stags at Alumni Field in their 25th matchup on Oct. 5, 2013, 2-0 

Up Next for the Purple Eagles
Niagara will play its final road game of the regular season against Rider on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. before returning home for one final home contest.  The Purple Eagles will host Iona College on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. for Senior Day.
