The Purple Eagles wrap up their final road trip of the season with a matchup against the Iona Gaels in New Rochelle on Sunday.
Niagara is coming off a big win over Manhattan that brought its record to 3-2 over the last five games while a four-game losing streak has the Gaels at 1-4 over the same stretch.
The Purple Eagles will try and continue its full team effort that it employed against Manhattan. Four players scored double-digit points and the had six players account for 32 rebounds.
Kayla Stroman will try and continue her hot hand. She has not only been putting up points, averaging 13.8 points per game over the last five contests, but has also been a playmaker. She has dished out 26 assists over the last five games.

Last Time Out...
RIVERDALE, N.Y. – In one of its best all-around team performance of the season, the Niagara women’s basketball team downed the Manhattan Jaspers, 61-55, on Friday at the Draddy Gymnasium.
The Purple Eagles (9-16, 6-7 MAAC) defeated the Jaspers (12-12, 6-6 MAAC) tanks in part to four players hit double-digits on the scoreboard.

Lauren Gatto (12 points) and Stroman (14 points) did the honors.
Niagara also outrebounded Manhattan, 38-25, as Gatto and Shy Britton tied for game-highs with six apiece, and the Purple Eagles also had four other players tied with five rebounds on the night. Niagara hit 48.7 percent of its shots from the floor and got back to form from the line, hitting 10 of 14 (71.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
On The Court:
Iona Gaels (10-13, 6-6 MAAC)
Iona is in the middle of a four-game losing streak as they have dropped contests to Marist, Fairfield, Siena, and Loyola. The first two losses of the streak came at home, against the two top teams in the MAAC and brought the Gaels to a 7-3 home record on the season and 4-2 in conference play at the Hynes Center.
The Gaels are led by freshman Damika Martinez who is averaging 15.5 points per game and 5.2 rebounds a game. The guard has started all 23 games for Iona but senior Kristina Ford is not far behind. Ford scored 14.6 points per game and bringing in 6.6 rebounds per game.
Suzi Fregosi is Iona’s play-making threat, averaging 4.9 assists per game, which has her ranked 46th in the nation.
Against the Gaels (Niagara leads 25-22)
The Purple Eagles enjoyed some success against Iona, winning 12 of 14 games until 2006 when the Gaels have won the last 14 contests.
Wrapping Up The Road Schedule
The last time Niagara played its final road game of the year at Iona was on February 23, 2003. The Purple Eagles came away from that game with a 91-76 victory over the host Gaels.
Deadly From Distance
In MAAC play this season, the Purple Eagles are second in the conference in three point percentage. Niagara has hit 36.4 percent (67-184) of its chances from beyond the arc and trail only the Jaspers who have a 37.3 percent clip.
A Game of Firsts
Niagara’s win over Manhattan on Feb. 10 was a game of firsts. It was the team’s first win after trailing going into halftime as it trailed the Jaspers 28-27 going into the break.
It was also the Purple Eagles’ first win after committing more turnovers than it’s opponent, 16-8.
