	NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women’s soccer team concludes its 2012 season with a Battle of the Bridge contest against the Canisius Golden Griffins on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

Purple Eagles 101
	Niagara is 8-9-0 (3-5-0 MAAC) heading into its final game of the regular season.  The team has 14 individuals who have secured at least a point in 17 games with 
Jamie Raepple and 
Maria Siegrist-Gabas slated in the top spot with 10 points each. 
	 
	
Catherine Meyer and 
Danielle Kennedy are tied with four goals each, while three other Purple Eagles have three scores so far this season in 
Haillie Price,  Breanna Catipovic and 
Hayley Besaw.
	 
	Recently the Purple Eagles have been splitting time in goal between senior 
Amanda Taylor and rookie 
Claire Feiertag   Taylor has made 13 saves so far this season for a 0.86 goals-against average and a .812 save percentage.  Feiertag has played a majority of the minutes this season, registering 72 saves in 14 games for a 1.60 goals-against average and a .766 save percentage.
	 
	
Scouting the Golden Griffins
	Canisius is currently 4-14-0 for the year, while holding a 2-6-0 conference record.  The team recently dropped a 4-1 decision to Loyola (Md.) last Sunday. 
	 
	Brianna Smith has reached double-digits in goals with 10, while Megan MaHoney has four goals and four assists for the Golden Griffins. 
	 
	Megan Tock with likely earn the nod in goal, having 91 stops to her name for a 2.81 goals-against average and a .711 save percentage. 
	
	
Canisius vs. Niagara
	Canisius leads the all-time series against Niagara by a 21-12-0 margin, but Niagara is 9-1-1 against Canisius since 2002.  
	 
	Last season Niagara came out with a 1-0 victory on Oct. 15 as Catipovic scored the only goal of the game in the 62
nd minute while Picanco was credited with the assist. 
	 
	
Last Time Out    
	Niagara dropped two tough decisions last weekend with a 3-0 loss to Loyola on Oct. 19 and a close 3-2 defeat against Rider on Oct. 21. 
	 
	The Broncs tallied the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining in the contest to push them past NU.  Meyer and Besaw each found the back of the net, while 
Kayla Picanco and Siegrist-Gabas contributed assists.
	 
	Taylor started between the posts for the Purps against the Greyhounds, stopping three Loyola shots while Feiertag earned the nod in goal for the Rider game, tying her season high of eight saves.
