Niagara travels to Green Bay, Wisc. this weekend in an attempt to continue their recent success. The Purple Eagles will take their four-game unbeaten streak to the Green Bay Classic for a pair of games over the weekend.
On Friday, Niagara plays Green Bay (2-1-1) who is coming off a win against UNLV. Niagara then plays Eastern Illinois (2-3-0) on Sunday. The Panthers are trying to end a two-game losing skid.
Some individual players are looking to continue their success as well. Goalkeeper Brett Petricek currently ranks seventh in the NCAA in saves with 29. Petricek also ranks 17thin saves per game with 5.8. The Purple Eagles defense leads the conference in goals against average (.96) and saves (30).
The offense has continued its prolific output from last season, ranking second in the MAAC in assists with and third in goals (9) and points (27). MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Carl Haworth is currently ranked 10th in the NCAA in total points with 11 and 16th in goals with 11. Haworth and fellow striker Bryan DaCruz are tied for 15th in the nation in total assists (three).
