LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - Junior Trevor Kenney finished off a strong weekend at the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Golf Championships at Disney's Magnolia golf course, by finishing in a tie for 10th place out of 46 golfers.
Kenney picked up Niagara's first top-10 finish at the MAAC Championships since the 2009 event, where Jason Polka finished in seventh place and Kenney finished in eighth place.
The men's team finished in ninth place of nine teams for the third consecutive day, with Kenney's day three score of 76 contributing to an overall team score of 995. Niagara finished 18 strokes behind eighth-place Rider, while 100 strokes behind first place Loyola.
The women's team is in sixth place of six teams for the third consecutive day, with a team score of 1,152. Sophomore Brittany Siechen led Niagara with a three-day total of 278, good for 22nd place out of 32 golfers. Niagara finished 112 strokes behind fifth-place Albany.
"This championship experience will be invaluable for the returning players as we will be back at this same course next year," Head Women's Golf Coach Steve Latimer said. "The team matured and grew today in so many ways, including Ali's [Ince] shooting a career-low 94."
Loyola won the men's competition, while Siena won the women's competition.
