Kenney Leads Niagara At MAAC Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - Junior Trevor Kenney is currently tied for 15th place out of 46 golfers after day two of the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Golf Championships at Disney's Magnolia golf course.

The men's team is in ninth place of nine teams for the second consecutive day, with Kenney's day two score of 76 contributing to an overall team score of 673. Niagara is 21 strokes behind eighth-place Rider, while 80 strokes behind first place Loyola.

"It was a tough day," Men's Golf Head Coach Kevin Miller said. "Trevor has really come along in the last two days and hopefully he can land in the top-10 after tomorrow."

The women's team is in sixth place of six teams for the second consecutive day, with a team score of 775. Sophomore Brittany Siechen leads Niagara with a two-day total of 183, good for 24th place out of 32 golfers. Niagara is currently 84 strokes behind fifth-place Albany.

"The women's team is beginning to adjust to the firm and fast course conditions," Women's Golf Head Coach Steve Latimer said. "The grain of the bermuda grass greens is also causing some putting difficulty."
