Getting Back On Track
The Purple Eagles look to get back in the win column versus the Colgate Raiders on Friday at 6 pm. Niagara has had success against the Raiders; head coach Kendra Faustin has posted a career record of 1-0 while the Purple Eagles has a large lead in the all-time series, being up 23-12.
That success applies to the whole Patiot League. The Purple Eagles are 11 games above .500, 31-20, against the conference. Another Patriot League foe, Bucknell, has been Niagara’s first win of the year two of the last three years.
The win column is is not the only thing that Niagara will try and get on track. It’s free throw percentage was the lowest of the season, almost 20 points below their average. Despite the off game at the line, the Purple Eagles still rank third in the MAAC, and 44th nationally, with a 74.7% shooting percentage.

Faustin’s return to action. Faustin will be back on the bench after being out for the first few weeks of the season on maternity leave after the birth of her first child, Callard.

Last Time Out...
Niagara stumbled against the University of Pennsylvania Quakers, losing 55-41. The Purple Eagles came out quick to open the game, jumping out to a 9-5 lead, but Penn would tighten up defensively and tie the game half way through the opening half. Niagara couldn’t get things goin after the break allowing Penn to slowly pull away.
On The Court: Colgate Raiders (0-8)
Colgate has had trouble out of the gate, starting the season 0-7. Three of those losses came after flying across the country and playing in the Cal State Northridge Tournament, followed by a game against San Diego. Three of the seven losses have been by four points or less.
Against the Raiders (Niagara leads 23-12)
Niagara hasn’t faced Colgate since October 10, 2007 when they dropped the Raiders 78-39 in coach Faustin’s first game as the head coach of the Purple Eagles. Liz Flooks was a freshman that season and scored 12 points in her collegiate debut. None of the current Purple Eagles were on the roster at the time.
Five Years...
It has been five years since Niagara and Colgate met. Before that the two teams met four times in five seasons, with Niagara posting a 3-1 record against the Raiders.
Not a Bad Way to Start Off...
Coach Faustin’s first game back to coach is against the same team that she coached her first ever game as the Purple Eagles boss. The Purple Eagles won the game 78-39.
