Niagara heads home for its first home contest of the season, against the No. 12/11 Union Dutchmen. Union hasn’t played a game at Dwyer Arena since Oct. 11, 2003.
Free 2011-12 Gameday T-Shirt!
For the first 500 paying fans through the doors on Friday, they will receive an exclusive gameday t-shirt for the 2011-12 season. Fans who obtain these shirts can wear them to future games and receive one discounted ticket of five dollars per shirt.

Season-Opening Success
Niagara is 3-1-2 in its last six home-openers. Niagara played Colgate to a 4-4 tie to open the 2009-10 season and Merrimack to a 4-4 tie to open the 2010-11 season.
Ranked Teams At Dwyer
The last time Niagara played a ranked team at Dwyer Arena was on March 12, 2010, defeating No. 8/8 Bemidji State 5-4 in the semifinals of the College Hockey America Tournament. The Purple Eagles are 2-1-0 in the last three games against ranked teams at Dwyer Arena.
Are We There Yet?
Niagara opened the season on a three-game road trip (Michigan, RIT and Air Force) before hosting Union in the home opener on Oct. 21. Niagara traveled 3,950 miles before hosting a home game.
Tough Schedule
Niagara takes on several teams this year that earned a spot on the national rankings (USCHO/USA Today). Niagara already played No. 6/9 Michigan, with games coming up against No. 12/11 Union, No. 16/14 Colgate, No. 20 Cornell and No. 8/10 Minnesota. Niagara also has games schedule against teams receiving votes; Air Force, Northeastern and RIT.
