OLEAN, N.Y. - Niagara senior Jason Polka (Lewiston, N.Y.) earned his third career top 10 finish on Monday when he tied for seventh place with a 5-over-par 145 at the Leo Keenan Invitational. His efforts helped the Purple Eagles earn an eighth place finish at the event.
Polka carded a 76 on Monday, paired with his career-best 69 on Sunday. The event's medalist, Rider's Eric LeFante, was the only MAAC golfer ahead of the NU captain.
Junior Kelly Robinson (Fergus, Ont.) recorded NU's low round of the afternoon. His 74 helped him finish tied for 33rd place with a 154. Classmate Jeremy Christie (St. Catherines, Ont.) tied for 36th with a 155.
Joe Tonnos (St. Catherines, Ont.) finished with a 156, while sophomore Trevor Kenney (South Burlington, Vt.) had a 157.
Niagara's four-man total of 607 was good enough for eighth place out of 13 teams. The Purple Eagles return to action for their final fall event at Robert Morris on Oct. 12-13.
