NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. --
If snapping a losing streak wasn’t a tough enough task, the Niagara University women’s basketball team will try to do it on the road against a ranked team when it travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on No. 25 Boston College Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Conte Forum.
In the midst of a brutal six-game road swing, the Purple Eagles will try to end a five-game losing streak and win their second contest of the season. Niagara lost both of its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games on Dec. 9 and Dec. 11.
Standing in the way of a win for Niagara is an 9-2 Boston College team that is ranked No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll and receiving 66 votes in the Associated Press Poll. The Eagles are protecting a three-game winning streak after beating Boston University, 66-49, this past Sunday.
Wednesday is the first meeting between the two teams.
