NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara University men's basketball program announces the addition of Steven Levnaic, a 6-foot-3 guard from Hamilton, Ontario, to the 2017-18 recruiting class.
 
"We are excited to add Steve to our program," head coach Chris Casey said. "He is an athletic scoring guard who competes at a high level.   We expect him to contribute immediately next season on both ends of the floor."  
 
Levnaic is currently a member of the RISE Centre (TRC) Academy Wolfpack of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA). Levnaic averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game as he helped the Wolfpack advance to the OSBA Championship in 2017.  Levnaic was named a National Prep School Invitational (Rhode Island) Tournament All-Star and a SLAM Magazine Prep Invitational (Monte Verde, Florida) Tournament All-Star during the 2016-17 season. TRC recognized Levnaic as its Sportsman of the Year.
 
This season, Levnaic and Wolfpack are undefeated in the OSBA, while he is averaging career-best numbers in points (19), rebounds (8), and in assists (5).
 
"(Niagara) is a great academic school with a sports management program that I am interested in," Levnaic said. "The basketball team and coaching staff have the same work ethic as mine."
