WINTHROP, Mass. – Niagara freshman goaltender Brian Wilson was named Atlantic Hockey's Rookie of the Month for the month of November, announced on Wednesday. Wilson has now received three league honors this season, being named the conference's Goaltender of the Week on Oct. 31 and Rookie of the Week on Dec. 5.
Wilson started every game for the Purple Eagles in the month of November, going 3-3-1 between the pipes and ranked fourth in the conference with a 2.59 goals-against average. The Pickering, Ontario native helped the Purple Eagles continue their ascent up the AHC standings, going 3-2-1 against conference opponents with a 2.17 goals-against average and .913 save percentage. He helped Niagara take seven of eight conference points in four home games against Bentley and Army from Nov. 3 to 11.
In 12 games (11 starts) this season, Wilson is tied for first in Atlantic Hockey with seven wins and is third with a 2.44 goals-against average. Against AHC competition, Wilson is first in goals-against average (2.01), first in wins (seven), first in win percentage (.750), and second in save percentage (.922).
