Kaylee Stroemple scored a career-high 26 points as Niagara was edged in the final minute by MAAC-leading Quinnipiac, 71-64, in the annual kids day game on Thursday.

Game Recap
- The Purple Eagles got off to a quick start, going on a 7-0 run through the first two minutes of action. Niagara continued its efficiency on offense, ending the quarter 7-for-10 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe to lead 21-11 going into the second quarter.
- Quinnipiac went on an 8-1 run to start the second, but the Purple Eagles bounced back quickly. Morgan Baughman drained consecutive 3-pointers as Niagara went into halftime leading 34-26. Stroemple and Baughman combined for 25 of Niagara's 34 first half points.
- The Purple Eagles maintained their lead throughout the third quarter and head into the fourth quarter with a 50-43 lead.
- The final quarter had five ties and seven lead changes.
- Niagara continued to fight as the Bobcats went on a run to start the fourth. With less than four minutes remaining, Quinnipiac's Paula Strautmane converted a tough layup, giving the Bobcats their first lead of the day, 55-54. Stroemple answered with a finish of her own at the rim to regain the lead for Niagara, 56-55.
- Th Purple Eagles scored four straight points, with Tiffany Corselli and Victoria Rampado providing the scoring, to take a 62-60 lead with 1:39 remaining.
- The score was knotted at 64-64 with less than 50 seconds left when Quinnipiac's Aryn McClure made the go-ahead layup as the Bobcats scored the final seven points in the game.
Inside the Numbers
- Stroemple had a game-high 26 points, setting a career-high. She also added seven rebounds and four assists.
- Rampado added 12 points for Niagara and led the team in rebounds with nine. Rampado has had nine or more rebounds in eight games this season.
- Baughman tacked on 11 points and shot 50 percent from the 3-point line. This is her eighth game this season with three or more 3-pointers.
