NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer hosts Rider on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Niagara Field.
On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (2-6-1, 1-2-0 MAAC)
- Laura Ortiz leads the Purple Eagles with three goals, 17 shots and 11 shots on goal. Her three goals are tied for eighth-most in the MAAC.
- Eva Bachmann leads the team in assists with two and is ranked tenth in the MAAC in assists.
- In goal, Shania van Nuland (1-5-1) is tied for third-most shutouts in the MAAC with two. She has 25 saves and a 1.90 goals against average, which is the seventh-best in the MAAC.
- Shangyne Samuels (1-1-0) earned her first career start and first career shutout in the Purple Eagles' 3-0 win against Quinnipiac on Sept. 24. She recorded a career-high seven saves on her way to earning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
