The Niagara men's and women's cross country teams are back in action to compete in the annual Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday. The men's race begins at 12:15 p.m followed by the women's race at 1:00 p.m.
 
Pre-Meet Notes (Women)

• Kayla Murphy and Caroline Hampton both finished in the top-10 in the season-opening Little 3 Championships at Delaware Park
• Murphy and Hampton finished at the top for the Purple Eagles at the National Catholic Invitational.
• Hampton ran the 5000M in 19:48 for 66^th place with Murphy finishing two places later at a time of 19:52.6.
• Megan Helf run a personal-best time of 20:36.7 and Julia Freemire ran the race in 20:42.3.

 
Rewind: 2015 Paul Short Invitational

• Kayla Murphy led the Purple Eagles with a personal best time of 23:21. Murphy placed 138th out of 387 runners.  
• Caroline Hampton was next for the Purple Eagles at 23:26
• Niagara finished 40th out of 45 teams.

 
Pre-Meet Notes (Men)

• Tyler van Leeuwen led the Purple Eagles at the 37^th Annual National Catholic Invitational. He ran the race in 27:04 for 48^th place out of 86 runners.
• It was the second straight meet van Leeuwen led the Purple Eagles.
• In the season-opening Little 3 Championships, Niagara ran the 5K event in 16:43.3 to finish ahead of St. Bonaventure (17:10.2) and behind Canisius (15:51.0).

 
Rewind: 2015 Paul Short Invitational

• Ben Slate and Sergio Cruz finished with personal bests at this event finishing with times of (27:46) and (27:56), respectively.
• Niagara finished 36th out of 39 teams.
