Volleyball Hosts Rider and Saint Peter's

The Purple Eagles will continue conference play at home with matches against Rider on Saturday and Saint Peter's on Sunday.

Purple Points
  • The Purple Eagles are coming off of two tough back to back conference losses, in which the Saints of Siena won 3-1 (9/17), and the Red Foxes of Marist won 3-2 (9/18).
  • In their match against Siena, senior Alex Stone became Niagara's all-time leader in block assists (291), and is now third all-time in total blocks (362).
  • Junior Nicole Matheis recorded a season-high 23 kills in the five-set match against Marist, and tacked on a team season-high 25.5 points.

  • Rylee Hunt is 49 digs away from tying Kelly Cruttenden ('97) for fourth all-time (1,401).

MAAC Standouts
  • Niagara's Nicole Matheis and Madison May are ranked in the top 10 for kills in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Matheis is 7th with an average of 2.78 kills per set and May is 10th with an average of 2.61 kills per set.
  • Alexis Gray for the Purple Eagles is 6th in assists with 6.85 assists per set and 3rd in service aces with an average of 0.41.
  • Niagara's Alex Stone ranks 3rd in blocks with 1.09 blocks per set, with teammate Rylee Hunt ranking 2nd in digs with an average of 4.49 digs per set.
  • Rider's Devyn Holland and Veronica Koval are tied for 4th in service aces with an average of 0.38. Koval is also 4th in assists in the MAAC with 7.98 assists per set.
  • Saint Peter's Marlena Budna and Kristina Nieves are both ranked in the top 10 of blocks per set for the MAAC. Budna is 2nd with an average of 1.23 blocks per set and Nieves is ranked 6th with an average 0.91 blocks per set.
