NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women's basketball head coach Jada Pierce has announced three NCAA Division I transfers to the team.

"We are thrilled to announce the addition of Adila, Diona and Paige," said Pierce. "All of these young ladies are the type of people we want in our program that excel in the classroom, on the court and in the community. The culture that we are building for Niagara women's basketball is one that everyone at NU can be proud of. We believe this culture will set us up to win championships, which is our ultimate goal."

Adila Gathers | Forward | 5-foot-11 |Buffalo, NY | Saint Francis University (Pa.)
Gathers comes to Monteagle Ridge after one and a half seasons at Saint Francis (Pa.). In the 2014-15 season, Gathers appeared in 28 games and averaged 2.4 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. She played club basketball for the Rochester Revolution as well as competing with her high school, Tapestry Charter. After the 2013-14 season, her senior season, she was both an All-Western New York and All-State selection. Gathers was also a McDonald's All-American nominee. In her junior season (2012-13), Gathers averaged 17 points per game which ranked her seventh in scoring in New York State Class C.

"Adila is a very versatile player with the ability to play inside and on the perimeter," said Pierce. "She will also bring some experience that we will need on the front line. We also see that Adila will help us immediately on the defensive end of the floor. Her intensity and passion when we talked immediately made us feel she was the perfect fit to add to our program as we build for the future."

Diona Johnson | Guard | 5-foot-9 | Rochester, NY | Davidson College
Johnson joins Niagara after two successful seasons at Davidson College. In her sophomore season (2015-16), Johnson was second on the team in free throw percentage (80%), third in 3-point field goal percentage (31%) and third in overall field goal percentage (39%). She averaged 4.2 points per game and 1.2 rebounds per game. In her freshman season (2014-15), Johnson appeared in 19 games, which included her first career start at Winthrop on Dec. 13, 2014. She finished the season averaging 3.9 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game. Johnson was a three-year starter at Gates Chili High School, where she was leading scorer in her senior season with 18 points per game. She was named to both First Team All-County and First Team All-Greater Rochester at the conclusion of the season. She also competed at the club level with the Rochester Warriors and Baseline Elite, as well as joining Gathers as part of the Rochester Revolution.

"Diona is a big, strong guard that gained a lot of experience playing at a high level in the Atlantic 10 conference," Pierce said. "Diona is the ultimate playmaker with a very high basketball IQ. She has a knack for scoring, but can also get others involved to make them successful. With her ability to play multiple guard positions, it will help us play different combinations."

Paige Mosley | Forward | 5-foot-10 | Warner Robins, GA | Clemson University
In her junior season at Clemson (2015-16), Mosley appeared in 25 games and started 12. She played 530 total minutes and averaged 4.8 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. She scored a career-high 16 points against both Florida A&M and Pittsburgh. Mosley, who is known for her ability to play successfully at both the guard and post positions, was the only upperclassman on the 2015-16 Tigers team. In her sophomore season (2014-15), Mosley appeared in 29 games and started nine games, all nine of which were ACC competitions. She scored 50 total points, had 48 rebounds, 12 blocks and 10 steals.

"Paige is a versatile forward that has the ability to play on the perimeter," said Pierce. "Paige is used to scoring in a variety of ways and we will put her in positions to be successful. Her experience playing at the highest level of competition in the ACC will help us immediately once she is eligible to play. Paige also has a knack for rebounding, especially on the offensive end, which is an area of need for us."
