NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Purple Eagles men's and women's swimming teams hosted the University of Waterloo Warriors for Niagara's first home meet of the year. Niagara earned a 115-73 win on the men's side, while the Waterloo women took a 119-69 win over the Purple Eagles. 59 of the 80 times swam by Niagara in the team's fourth meet of the season were season-best marks.
Men's Meet Notes
- Alexander Pizzo won two individual events to lead the Purple Eagles in the meet. Pizzo swam a 4:45.79 to take first in the 500 free. Pizzo (9:58.46) and Daniel Ronen (10:08.03) gave Niagara a 1-2 finish in the 1000 free.
- James Crumm took a second-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.60.
- Shawn Warner (4:10.35) and Andreas Rintel (4:18.04) finished 1-2 in the men's 400 IM.
- Warner also took first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.35. Matthew Ricks swam a 53.04 in the event to take third.
- Niagara took the top two spots in the 50 free, with Robert Brown finishing first in 22.16 and Nicolas Winograd taking second with a time of 22.35.
- Brown also took first in the 100 free with 48.23, with James Crumm in second at 48.33 and Andrew Wilson in fourth at 50.12.
- Winograd earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:00.56 in the 100 breaststroke.

Women's Meet Notes
- Montana Valler led the Purple Eagles in the 500 free with a time of 5:46.63 and in the 1000 free with a time of 11:33.84.
- Claire Schoemick swam a career-best in the 500 free with a time of 6:09.04.
- Lauren Nicastro (2:01.67) and Marlane Hochgraf (2:05.64) gave Niagara a 2-3 finish in the 200 free.
- Sarah Webber led Niagara in the women's 400 IM, swimming a 4:56.98.
- Julia Casolo and Sydney Kligys finished 1-2 in the 100 butterfly for Niagara. Casolo took her third win of the year in that event with a time of 58.82, followed by Kligys at 1:00.29.
- Kligys (25.41) and Casolo (25.43) finished 2-3 in the 50 free, followed by Kristen Suarez in fifth at 25.75.
- Suarez earned first in the 100 free at 55.70. Annie Eckhardt earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 56.48.

Relay Results
- Niagara and Waterloo swam a pair of mixed relays in Saturday's meet.
- In a mixed 8x50 free relay, Niagara took first with a team of Shawn Warner, James Crumm, Nick Rogers, Robert Brown, Sydney Kligys, Marlane Hochgraf, Lauren Nicastro and Kristen Suarez finishing in 3:10.53.
- The Purple Eagles were led in the mixed 200 medley relay by the second-place team of Andreas Rintel, Nicolas Winograd, Julia Casolo, and Kristen Suarez. The foursome finished the relay in 1:45.56.
- The Niagara men took first in their 400 free relay as Warner, Rogers, Crumm, and Brown finished in 3:14.23. The women were led by the second-place team of Julia Casolo, Nicastro, Kligys, and Annie Eckhardt who swam a 3:44.60.

- Head coach Ben Nigro: "Our teams put on a great performance today! We swam a ton of season-best times, and it will be tough to follow up today, but that is our goal."
