Matt Scott led all scorers with a season-high 30 points as the Purple Eagles fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 78-65, on Sunday. Â

Game Summary
- Kahlil Dukes opened the scoring with a 3-pointer in the corner. A Dominic Robb "block and slam" tied the game at 13-13.
- Rutgers followed with a 6-0 run, but a pair of 3-pointers by Matt Scott tied the game at 19-19 with 8:14 on the first half clock.
- The Scarlet Knights responded with a 14-4 run, including scoring 10 straight points, over the next five minutes.
- NU finished the half on a 7-2 run, capped by a Kahlil Dukes 3-pointer, to trail 35-30.
- The Purple Eagles rode the momentum from the first half into the opening five minutes of the second half.
- One of Scott's four 3-pointers tied the game at 39-39 and a Marvin Prochet 3-pointer put NU back in front, 42-41, with 14:53 remaining.
- However, the Scarlet Knights went on a 16-0 run in a five-minute span to seize control of the game.
- The scoring drought was halted by four straight free throws by Scott.
- Rutgers led as much as 19 points before NU trimmed the lead to 11 with under a minute left.

- Matt Scott registered his third career 30-point game and was two points away from tying his career-high.
- Scott made a career-high 14 free throws on 16 attempts and grabbed eight rebounds.
- Kahlil Dukes was second on the team in scoring with 12 points, including tying a season-high in 3-pointers with three.
- Marvin Prochet scored a season-high 11 points, tied a career-best in steals with two and set a season-high in blocks with two.
- Dominic Robb swatted a career-best four shots. Robb has had at least two blocks in every game this season. Robb also scored nine points.
