Women's Soccer Faces Siena And Monmouth

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer team heads out on a two-game road trip this week, taking on Siena on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3:00 p.m. and Monmouth on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 12:00 p.m.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (2-7-1, 1-3-0 MAAC)
  • Laura Ortiz leads the Purple Eagles with three goals, which is the tenth-most in the MAAC, 19 total shots and 12 shots on goal.
  • Eva Bachmann leads the team in assists with two. She also has one goal.
  • Goalkeeper Shania van Nuland (1-6-1) has recorded 26 saves so far this season and has two shutouts. She is tied for eighth-most saves and fourth-most shutouts in the MAAC.
  • Niagara has outshot opponents 68-56 in the first period and 126-123 overall.

  • The Purple Eagles were defeated by Rider, 1-0, in a tough defensive battle on Saturday, Oct. 1.
