The Purple Eagles women's swimming and diving team heads to Ohio Friday evening for a meet with the Youngstown State Penguins. Niagara competed in a double dual meet against the Binghamton Bearcats and Siena Saints last week, earning a 209-85 win over MAAC opponent Siena while being outscored by Binghamton 158.5 to 131.5.

Last Time Out
- Freshman Nastassja Posso highlighted the women's individual performances at Binghamton last weekend. She took first place in two individual races, the 500 free (5:22.68) and the 1000 free (11:06.04).
- Julia Casolo earned her second 100 butterfly win to start the season (59.48) after winning the event at the 2016 MAAC Championships. Hannah Charlton gave Niagara the 1-2 sweep in the 100 butterfly, finishing behind Casolo with a time of 1:02.16.
- Sydney Kligys won the 200 IM at Binghamton with a time of 2:18.34.
- Casolo (2:15.51) and Charlton (2:16.52) took second and third, respectively, in the 200 butterfly.
- Bridgette Ehrmann earned third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.73 and fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.47.
- Kristen Suarez finished third in the 50 free (25.33) and fourth in the 100 free (55.03).
- Niagara's 'A' team in the 400 free relay of Casolo, Lauren Nicastro, Kligys, and Kristen Suarez finished first in 3:44.17. In the 200 free relay, Nicastro, Ehrmann, Casolo, and Suarez took third with a time of 1:52.87.
- Nicastro took fourth in the 100 backstroke, leading Niagara with a time of 1:03.27.
- Brianna Smith led the Purple Eagles in the 200 back, finishing third in 2:17.59. She was followed by Angelica Gordon who swam a 2:18.50.
- On the diving board, Emily Deck won the 1-meter dive (208.88) and Haily Atkins scored first in the 3-meter dive (215.85) as Niagara swept the diving events at Binghamton.

Posso Named MAAC Women's Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming
- After her strong performance at Binghamton, Nastassja Posso was singled out as the MAAC representative by CollegeSwimming for their Women's Conference Swimmers of the Week.
- Posso's wins in the 500 free and 1000 free were just shy of her times from the season-opening meet at Fredonia on Oct. 7, where she also took first in both races.
- At Fredonia, Posso swam the 500 free in 5:19.59 and the 1000 free in 11:00.77.
- In the Binghamton meet, Posso also earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 free, swimming a time of 2:01.83 to lead the Purple Eagles in that event.

- Niagara opens its home schedule at the Oxy Aquatic Center with a pair of home dual meets next weekend. The Purple Eagles welcome the University of Waterloo for their home opener on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. before hosting Colgate University Sunday, Nov. 6 at 9 a.m.
