Women's Soccer Falls To Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles fell to the Iona Gaels in their final road trip of the regular season on Saturday.

Game Recap
  • The Gaels got on the board first, scoring in the 30th minute to give themselves a 1-0 lead.
  •  Niagara answered quickly. Bicknell scored her second goal of the season on a long shot which deflected off the goalkeeper's hands and went into the net to tie the score 1-1.
  • Iona put the game away in the 80th minute, scoring the final goal of the match.
  • Bicknell took shots in both the 81st and 88th minutes to try and tie up the score, but both were saved by Iona's keeper.

  • Bicknell led the Purple Eagles with five shots. All five were shots on goal.
  • Niagara outshot Iona 10 to eight in the first half of the game and 13 to 12 overall.
