Schedule | Men's Basketball Ticket Home Page

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men’s basketball program has announced its 2012-13 non-conference schedule. Highlights are home dates against Big Four rivals Buffalo and St. Bonaventure, and a game at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y. against Davidson.

The Purple Eagles will be led by Chris Casey, who was named the program’s 21st head coach in April. All-MAAC First Teamer and leading scorer junior Antoine Mason is back to anchor a Niagara squad that earned an NIT bid last season.

“Our out of conference schedule includes some exciting home games and some quality road games,” Casey said.  “This schedule should help prepare us for the always difficult MAAC Conference schedule.”

The reigning MAAC regular-season champions will open the season at Seton Hall on Nov. 9 as part of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Tournament. Four days later, the Purple Eagles open their home schedule against Big Four rival Buffalo on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.

Niagara will then continue play in the NABC Tournament against Kent State (Nov. 21), USC Upstate (Nov. 22) and Western Carolina (Nov. 23) at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the campus of Kent State.

NU will stay on the road as it travels to play Penn on Nov. 26 before heading south to face Northwestern State in a rematch of last season’s BracketBusters game on Nov. 30 and takes on Arkansas State on Dec. 3.

The Purple Eagles return to Western New York on Dec. 11 to host Southern Conference champion Davidson at the First Niagara Center. Niagara’s final two non-conference games are at the Gallagher Center when the Purple & White plays Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure on Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. and Brown on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m.

Season tickets are on sale now. A free shuttle service will be provided on a trial basis during men’s basketball game days for the 2013-14 season. In addition, game days will include the continuation of a preferred parking lot that was established last season. With B. Thomas Golisano Center for Integrated Sciences nearing completion, additional preferred parking spots will be made available and determined by the priority point system.
