Past Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week Award Winners

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women’s tennis freshman Iva Celan has been named Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the women’s program to its season-opening win against the Colgate Raiders last Friday.

The Mountain View, Calif. native started the season with a 1-0 record after defeating Colgate’s Kelsey Shea in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, in No. 2 singles. Celan was also victorious in No. 1 doubles with teammate Hilary Hansen as they dropped Colgate's Kelsey Wanhainen and Shea, 8-2. 

The Niagara women’s tennis team is back in action this Saturday, Feb. 18 when it plays at Youngstown State at 6 p.m.
