NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - For his strong play this weekend for the Niagara men's soccer team (1-1), senior Carl Haworth has earned Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week honors.

After returning from his stint with Team Canada in the World University Games, the Barrie, Ont. native nets a goal and an assist in Niagara's 3-1 triumph over Little Three rival, St. Bonaventure. The Purple Eagle victory wasthe team's first against St. Bonaventure at home since 2005.

Haworth has been the Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week once before, after he scored two goals and two assists in games against Binghamton and Buffalo in 2010.

Niagara returns to action, when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Cornell at 7 p.m. on Friday.
