NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - After helping the Niagara women's soccer team (4-7-0; 2-0-0 MAAC) to two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victories this past weekend, sophomore forward Kayla Picanco was named the Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week.

The reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week netted a hat-trick against Saint Peter's, including the game-winning goal on Friday during Niagara's 4-2 win. The hat-trick was Niagara's first three-goal effort since Stephanie Gartley netted three goals against Albany on Sept. 12, 2008 at Niagara Field.

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Friday, Oct. 7, when they host Rider (7-3-2, 0-1-0 MAAC) at 7 p.m.
