YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Freshman Lisa Shanks's (Yorktown, Va.) victory in the 200 backstroke highlighted a strong meet for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams, but the teams ultimately fell in defeat to Cleveland State and Youngstown State. The women's team lost to Cleveland State 149-92 and Youngstown State 160-79, while the men's team lost to the Cleveland State Vikings 146-91.
NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara swimming and diving teams are ready to dive into the bulk of its schedule, traveling to Ohio to take on Youngstown State and Cleveland State on Friday night.
DURHAM, N.H. - Niagara senior Allison Carr (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) earned her first victory of the 2008-09 season, as the women's swimming and diving team dropped its first dual meet of the season at New Hampshire, 145-87. Carr's 2:31.39 was good enough for medalist honors in the 200 breast. Three other individuals took second place on the afternoon.
