WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Three members of the Niagara men’s tennis program were named to All-MAAC Teams, highlighted by
Olivier Dufour-Coursol who earned first team honors at No. 3 singles.
David Raymond and
Lorenz Schwojer were named to the All-MAAC Second Team in two and four singles, respectively.
Dufour-Coursol had a MAAC-best 23-7 record, was 6-0 in conference matches and went 16-1 in No. 3 singles. Dufour-Coursol’s 23 wins set a Niagara single-season record for wins which was previously held by Walter Garcia during the 2004-05 season (22 wins). He had a 10-match winning streak at one point in the season which was snapped in a three-set defeat at Binghamton. Dufour-Coursol was named MAAC Player of the Week on March 19.
Raymond was second on the team with an 18-12 record and was 4-2 in MAAC matches, while playing in one and two singles throughout the season. Schwojer had a 17-7 overall record, which included a nine-match winning streak and was 9-3 in four singles. This is the second straight season Raymond and Schwojer earned second team accolades.
Niagara’s No. 1 doubles team, Dufour-Coursol and Raymond, was named to the second team after posting a team-best 15-8 record.
Six Purple Eagles were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team:
Michael Elortegui, Brandon Gallegos, Mathieu Lacasse,
Mike Mucci Raymond and Schwojer.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale
