Michael Elortegui knocked off conference foe Fairfield’s No. 1 doubles team, 9-8 (7), in the second round of the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals.
Gallegos and Elortegui held their nerves to pull out a victory against the doubles team of Dennis Zlobinsky and Ian Tesmond. Last season, Fairfield’s doubles teams went undefeated (18-0) in conference play.
